News from Weston On The Green. The Playing Field fencing has been completed to the satisfaction of the Landlord for the Lease, but the Highways are asking for the fence to be moved back. Negotiations are ongoing, but it looks like a little bit more work for the volunteers!
The Village Hall Car-park was officially re-opened in September with a BBQ party on the grass outside the hall. The weather held and a good time was had by all. Thanks were given to the various people who had helped in kind, and in money terms providing grants for the work. The work covered the disabled-persons ramp, roof work, and the foundations, improvement to the drainage, and tarmac of the car- park
Children's Party. There will be the traditional Children's Party, sponsored by the Village Hall Management Committee, on 7th January 2006 for the children of the village. This annual event is a almost certain success with the children as there is an entertainer, and the usual party food to enjoy!
There will be a Parish Council meeting on 11th January 2006 in the Village Hall. Press and public are welcome to attend to witness this meeting.
